What can we learn from Christopher's affection for animals? Why is he able to connect with them more easily than he can with human beings?

Funny, I just answered this question last evening. Ultimately, Christopher finds animals easier to understand. They don't play games..... they simply wag their tails when they're happy, growl when they're angry, bark for attention (or in warning) and love you unconditionally. Humans are far more complex..... Christopher is a concrete, literal thinker.
