Why does Christopher need the stimulation of a mainstream school?

I know that he needs to be able to comunicate with others as if he went to a school with everyone similar to him he wouldn't be able to handle the outside world.

Christopher is very high functioning and very intelligent. His lack of communication skills are no justification for placing him in special school. Academically, Christopher is capable, if not more than capable of fufilling curriculum requirements.
