What was your reaction to Tom walker at the beginning of the story and did your opinion of him change by the end?

My initial opinion of Tom Walker was that he was greedy. As the story progressed, Tom's actions not only affirmed my initial thoughts but confirmed that he was deceitful and immoral as well.
