Lower Numbers
chapter14
They must let the musselmen go; they must know when to fight and when not to; they must know who to talk to and who to avoid; they must never stand next to a person with a G in their number, because they are Greeks and because they do do understand Yiddish or German, they disappear quickly. Anyone standing next to them will be gone as well. She emphasizes that because her number is lower than theirs that she has been there longer and so knows how to organize things.
