Who is Shmuel and Gitl? Describe them.

Shmuel and Gitl are Chaya's aunt and uncle..... they, of course, are brother and sister. Shmuel is described as strong and brave. Gitl is like a mother to Hannah. We learn over the course of the novel that Gitl never marries, and that she later moves to Israel, where she founds a charity organization.
