Anne reports on her negotiation with mr.dussel over the use of table in their room. do it seem to you that she is in the right?

Anne has begun to manipulate Mr. Dussel instead of arguing with him. Anne swallows her pride to gain an upper hand over the old man. She finds Mr. Dussel “petty and pedantic.” I think Ann is losing her youthful innocence. She is doing what gets her what she wants. It is sad but perhaps inevitable given her circumstances. I wouldn't fault her, Dussel being so ornery, but it's a little sad.
