The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

how does the playwright use this scene as a contrast to Peter's and Anne's relationship earlier in the play?

Act Two, Scene 1, 2, 3

Earlier in the play, Anne and Peter couldn't have a conversation, let alone a date. Isolation and commonalities have forged a relationship..... a crush. Rather than acting like two spoiled children, they act like a young lady and gentleman with a purpose. They've learned to help each other, instead of fighting each other.
