Anne must endure a massive case of "cabin fever". Being cramped in such a small space with so many people inevitably leads to conflict. Ann wonders if anybody, no matter how they are related, gets on each other's nerves in a house sooner or later. I think this is the case with human nature. People need each other but they also need a certain amount of space to be alone.
