The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
The Mood

Of the story
I think there is a paradox at work with the mood of the story. On the surface, things are tense and frightening. The families in the annexe could be found out at any moment. Anne, however, continues to have faith in man, even if he is capable of so much evil. Anne believes that things will get better and she dreams about a life when the war is over.
