While this statement seems true on the surface, it is also true that in being "in the moment" can entice the reader to see what is happening through Anne's eyes. However, the reader has a great deal of information that Anne did not have, including the fact that Anne eventually dies. While it is true that Anne reflects a bit on her future, we know that this will not happen.
