The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
What do you think has been the most important effect of publishing Anne Frank's Diary? Do you think Anne might have made a greater impact on the world had she lived?
idk
idk
Of course the world got a first person view of a feisty Jewish girl coming of age in Nazi Germany. Her diary is personal and sincere. The reader really gets to know Ann and her inner thoughts. We learn about the war and anti-Semitism in a way that we can't get from a textbook. I think Ann would have had much more to tell us had she survived. The impact of her death, however, does much to lend emotional intensity when we finish the book.
