What does Anne say is gone and never to return?

im working on a school project and i cant find this answer in the book or anywhere, All i know is that it is between January 12, 1944- April 4, 1944. PLEASE HELP!

Anne says that her carefree school days are gone forever.

Looking back, I realize that this period of my life has irrevocably come to a close; my happy-go-lucky, carefree schooldays are gone forever.
