What is Mr. Frank's first reaction to the papers that Mieo gives him when he returns after the war?

Really? I didn't know that he wanted to burn them. I know he put them away for a long while before reading them, and that it took him a long time before he eventually had them translated, but I never knew his first reaction was to burn them. It's understandable though........ I understood why he omitted so much from the novel's original publications as well.
