Anne believes her mother to be closer and more supportive of her sister Margot. It is also a well known fact that Anne was a daddy's girl. In reality, their relationship was affected more by the fact that Anne was a teenager (that says it all). Anne later felt an enormous amount of regret over the way she treated her mother.
