why is adiary an effective way to learn about world war 2 ? what can you learn from a diary like anne franks that you can't learn from other souurces ?

A diary is a first hand account of the events in question. Anne is addressing her own experiences, good and bad, in her own words and emotions. Her diary has left us with a young girl's of WWII, the perspective of someone who didn't read about it or research it in a library, but rather, someone who lived it.
