How effective is Gilgamesh as a leader?

I would not give Gilgamesh a leadership award, that's for sure. None-the-less, he does gain a huge amount of experience and learn many lessons over the course of the epic, something that most likely carried into his role as king. Let's face it..... at the very end of the story, he looks up at the walls of his kingdom and realizes what he has..... he also gained the immortality he wished for because we're still reading his story today. We aren't told in the epic what happened after his return, but during his adventures he learned about honor, friendship, loyalty, and nobility. Prior to leaving, he was best known for his tyranical behavior.
