The Fall of the House of Usher is intended to be a horrifying story. It's a psychological thriller, complimented by a duly sinister setting. As well written as it is, I'm sure it has been a disturbing draw to many, but Me? I'm not a huge fan of the genre, so you'd need to come at this with your own personal perspective.
