Explain Maslow´s Hierarchy of needs. What does Augustus and Hazel say about it?

Generally this states that as long as one’s basic needs are not met, one can not even begin to think about social needs, security, art, or strive toward “self-actualization”. Hazel doessn't think this is true. Even though her basic needs are not met, she still experiences the world through Augustus.
