Does Madison believe that man is inherently good or evil? How does affect his belief in the role of government

Madison believed neither..... he believed that Man became what society and opportunity made him. He supported the idea that confidence and opportunity allowed Man to achieve, whereas, a lack of those things proved degrading and led to depravity.
