Reef clearly has changed since the outset of the novel. How does this chapter illustrate some of those changes? (Chapter 25)

In this chapter, we see Reef's remorse, as well as the fact that he has genuinely come to care about Leeza. He is, however, unprepared for facing her mother, the truth, and truly dealing with the feelings and guilt he faces within himself. We can see the changes in Reef during his interactions with Alex.... reactions that are genuine and honest. Another change in Reef is his ability to let go of his emotions.... he can share his grief, his fear, and his tears.
