Reef tells Matheson his life is “pathetic” like his crappy car (96). Whose life is more pathetic, Reef or Matheson? Why? (chapter 9)

This really depends on your point of view. Matheson is a burnt out Social Worker. Although Mathison is stressed, at least he hasn't hurt people by dropping rocks on cars. I think Reef has more issues to work through.
