How did marguerite get in a car accident in the Five People you Meet in Heaven?

Marguerite feels badly because she admonished Eddie over the phone for betting at the race track. She is driving to the track when the accident happens. Some teens who had earlier robbed a liquor store were dropping their bottles from an overhang above the highway. A bottle hit Marguerite’s car and she has a near fatal crash.
