where does eddie's 4th stage of heaven begin? what is his physical condition?

Eddie is reunited with his wife. The lesson he learns is that everybody feels their love is one of a kind and therefore it is eternal. Eddie's body is deteriorating as he goes through the stages. At this stage he is suffering from his war wound. I believe he might be physically at the stage when his wife passed away. My backup to this belief is that he asks her to appear as she did in their last months together.
