Eddie is dead and in Heaven, there is no pain or worry, it's simply a journey.

Eddie is just beginning his quest. His body hasn't gone through the different experiences that occurred during his life time. He has not yet received the wound that crippled him.

It is beacuse Eddie does not feel worry or pain in Heaven
