In the book, Chew On This, the authors' attitudes toward fast food, including the McDonald brothers’ system fast food service is primarily negative. Their purpose in writing this book is to inform consumers about the ways that fast food affects consumer's own bodies, as well as the way it destroys indigenous food cultures.
