Describe Jonas' friendship with Asher.

Asher is Jonas' best friend. Jonas looks out for Asher at school, and tries to assist him with communication and schoolwork. After Jonas is assigned the receiver, the two boys drift apart, particularly because Asher cannot understand the changed Jonas tries to explain in his own life.
