Jonas found the Giver's dwelling to be much different than his own. His belongings were ornate, the fabric on the chairs was thick and luxurious, and the table legs were shaped and curved..... carved at the foot, unlike the straight legs of the tables in his own home. The Giver's bed was draped, and he had more books than Jonas had ever seen in his life.
