The irony is the celebration of twelve imposes an identity upon the child. These are communal celebrations that really assimilate children further into the collective rather than celebrate any sort of individuality.

No

At the Ceremony of Twelve each child takes a step in a new journey and the Release of the Elderly is to celebrate the end of their journey.
