What do you think of the “family unit” within this unique community?

On the surface of things, the "family unit" looks happy and content. It is actually pretty dysfunctional. The parents have an emotional IQ that is not that far from the children. The parents can only think and solve problems within the narrow parameters given to them by the Elders. The family exists within the very narrow context of superficial experiences and knowledge.
