What honors in our society are similar to the honor Jonas receive?

I believe that some similar things in our society include how the Ceremonies are similar to how we celebrate birthdays. We are recognized on these days for growing older. Also, the fact that Jonas is the Receiver of Memory gives him a lot of recognition. The hardest jobs are often given greater amounts of respect.
