What theme does Lowry highlight on pages 129-135?

May page numbers put this at around chapter 17. The main theme is Jonas's evolution and sense of isolation. Jonas feels things like stirrings and is able to see in colour. He see his friends playing games and he finds this games simplistic and silly.
