what's Jonas's father's attitude as he performs the Release?

"For Jonas' father, release is just a necessary thing.... a part of the job. He is genuinely gentle with the infant and speaks to him like he would any other.... his voice is comforting. In the end, however, taking part in the baby's release is simply a part of his job, he has no real compassion for the infant, nor does he feel that what he is doing is wrong.
