Why do you think Jonas is exempt from the rules governing rudeness? (chapter 9)

Jonas is pretty much on his own by now. He has to safeguard that emotions are flowing with the right filters. It is considered rude to ask anyone questions with subtance about private experiences and emotions. Jonas's new position exempts him from rules regarding rudeness and allows him to ask any question of anyone and expect a truthful answer.
