5he wells children are by far more mature responsible and reliable and senstible than their parents. they protect and take care of themselves each other and even their parents and yet according to the new law they are underage and therefore dependent on therefore dependent on their parents is it time to examine childrens rights should some children be granted more rights at an earlier age?
This question calls for your opinion.... there is no right or wrong answer. None-the-less, in making that decision there are a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration, and the Wells children are a very special case. There are certain safeguards put in place to assist children who are neglected or put in danger. Admittedly, their findings are not always what's best for the child. The Wells children were older than their years because they were forced to take care of themselves and because each of the children looked out for the other. Ultimately, their childhood was taken from them. Would it have been better if they'd been separated, moved into different homes, or emancipated by the courts? Who decides the "age" of emancipation?
