what causes the terrible fight , rose mary flight,and rex violent recapture of his wife?

Rex and Rose Mary have a huge fight over how long Rose Mary claims to have been pregnant with her children before giving birth. Rose Mary claims to have carried her children for up to fourteen months..... Rex doesn't agree. This so upsets Rose Mary that she reaches over to the driver's seat and finds a way to slam on the brakes..... after which, she takes off running.
