The Glass Castle
What is the local history of Welch?
Reading on page 133-135 about the family exploring the city but I never really came across where Jeannette explain the history in her book.. or am I missing something?
Thanks

I seem to recall that she describes Welch, West Virginia as a place of racial tension. There was much bigotry against blacks. Rex tells Jeanette about aviation history and the life of Mr. Yeager (broke sound barrier) who came from the town.
