How does the family feel about moving to california

The family is devastated by their need to move off of the land they've farmed for years. The land held all of their hopes and dreams, it fed the children they raised.... it was both their home and their bread and butter. Leaving was the end of hopes and dreams..... leaving became a nothing more than the will to survive.
