what moral crime was committed in chapter 25

The owners of the large vineyards have their grapes picked quickly and the small farmers are driven out of business. They have to watch their crops die and wither on the vine; the large corporations take over the majority of the land. Certainly their greed and their lack of care for the "little guy" is morally repugnant.
