Chapter One : How would youdescribe Daisy's state of mind during dinner? What does she say and so that helps reveal her inner conflicts ?

She's quite troubled, maybe uneasy during dinner.

You see I think everything's terrible anyhow, she went on in a convinced way. "Everybody thinks so-the most advanced people. And I know. I've been everywhere and seen everything and done everything."

Daisy is conflicted. She hates her husband and is attracted to Gatsby. Her speech is over the top and not self aware in the least, "I'm p-paralyzed with happiness." Really Daisy is miserable and "paralyzed" by her Husband Tom's infidelity and her inability to cope with real feelings.
