The Great Gatsby
Consider the flower symbol of Daisy's name, the color of her car, and the color of her clothing. How are these things symbolic of her character?
Ch 4
Ch 4
To Gatsby, Daisy is perfection. She is beauty personified. He clothing is bright and vibrant and she is the definition of feminine grace. The Daisy that exists in Gatsby’s mind is a fiction, much like Gatsby himself is a fiction. In reality Daisy is vacuous, self-absorbed and entitled. Does Gatsby ever see the truth about Daisy? I don't think he ever fully comprehends it but perhaps was getting the idea before George Wilson shoots him.
