Tom doesn't really change. He is a static character. He is still the vapid self-absorbed entitled jerk we met in early chapters. We just see the depths of his depravity extended. By the end of the novel, for example, he tells Wilson that Gatsby was responsible for Myrtle's death even though Daisy was at the wheel.
