How does Nick's statement "you're worth the whole bunch put together " show a change in Nick from the beginning of the novel?

Nick was very suspicious of Gatsby all through the novel, and not without reason. The change comes from the fact that Nick isn't just highlighting Gatsby's failings anymore..... he weighing the person.
