Is there a difference between sex and love in the Great Gatsby

There is most certainly a difference between sex and love. Nick has an ongoing relationship with Jordan that is not based upon love. Daisy and Gatsby embark upon a relationship that was based upon past love, but that was also based upon a memory. Their love had no place in the present. Tom and Myrtle also participated in a long standing affair..... possibly she loved Tom.... possibly he was just an escape from an unhappy life. I believe Tom cared for Myrtle, but I do not believe he loved her. True love would have led to a separation for Daisy.... and that was never going to happen.
