Well I'm doing this English Project and my question is "the nature of modern love and the tragedy of hopeless romanticism.
If you are looking for a critique of romanticism as a hopeless enterprise, I would look at the film 'Woman in the Dunes.' Even though the story does not necessarily revolve around the romantic relationship, there is a definite sense of unanswerable alienation in it. There is little consolation outside of the acknowledgement that both partners are "stuck in the dune" for life.
