They were driving home and gatsby, dasiy and myrtle were in the car. They got into and accident and myrtle was killed. Dasiy was driving at the time. Gatsby because of his deep and devoted compassion and love that he had for dasiy took claim that he was driving so that dasiy stayed out of trouble.
