What did you want to know about this quote?

I read Gatsby as an adult, after avoiding it for years due to its reputation when being forced on students. I loved it, but I can also see how as a teen I would have hated it, especially if it was forced on me in a literature class by a teacher intent on making me catalogue all the symbolism to make sure I understood it on every level they did. I guess what worked for me was to not really bother trying to read it, and more kind of swim in it. Enjoy the writing style for what it is, idly let it take you where it's going without worrying about how it gets there, and daydream a bit about if you want to be as great a success as Gatsby is.
