The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby, "riotous excursions"

Could you please tell me the precise meaning of "excursion" and "riotous" in the following sentence extracted from the first chapter of The Great Gatsby?

I wanted no more riotous excursions with privileged glimpses into the human heart.

Thank you.

This would mean wild (riotous) trips (excursions) partying like when they went to New York and got drunk.
