What did Nick mean when he said "They're a rotten crowd- you're worth the whole damn bunch put together" on page 162?

Nick meant that of all of them.... all the people he'd met, and all of the people he knew when he arrived in New York, Gatsby was the best. Because Gatsby, and only Gatsby, had the tenacity to stay true to his dreams... and be honest about what he wanted.
