Why does Nick say that Tom and daisy are “careless people”?

Nick reflects that Tom and Daisy are careless people because they play with the lives of others and have no remorse for their actions. Wealth and privilege insure they face no consequences for their actions, thus, their cruelty and thoughtlessness goes unchecked.
