How has Skeeter's life become duplicitous?

Over time, Skeeter's research leaves her open to discoveries she'd never before noticed. Understandingly, she comes to see her friends in a different light after interviewing their maids. These revelations build a wall and distance her from the white women she normally socializes with. To be duplicitous, is to be deceiving.... she deceives her friends each time she's with them. Note, because Skeeter is dedicated to her project, particularly after working with Aibileen, the distance saddens her rather than disturbs her.
